Parish School of Religion (PSR)

The St. Pius X Parish School of Religion (PSR), also known as our Faith Formation program, provides religious education for children and youth in grades K–12 who attend public or non-Catholic schools.

Program Schedule

Classes meet: Sunday mornings, 9:00–10:00 AM (between the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM Masses)
Session: September through April
Location: Parish School Classrooms, 7800 Halprin Drive

Sacramental Preparation

PSR includes preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Children preparing to receive their First Holy Communion are typically in 2nd grade. Confirmation preparation is offered at the high school level in coordination with the youth ministry program.

Curriculum

We use the Alive in Christ curriculum (Our Sunday Visitor), which is aligned with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the USCCB's framework for catechesis. Topics are age-appropriate and build year-to-year in a comprehensive scope and sequence.

Volunteer Catechists

Our program relies on generous parishioners who volunteer their time as catechists and aides. No prior teaching experience is required — just a love of the faith and a desire to share it with young people. Training and materials are provided. Please contact the Director of Religious Education to learn more.
