John 13:1-15

Before the Passover meal Jesus washes his disciple’s feet. They too must wash feet, he tells them. Peter is resistant. Judas is willing. Neither understand who Jesus is, nor do they understand what he is asking of them. “Do you know what I have done for you?”

Lord, on this night, the beginning of the three days, you show me what is at the heart of discipleship. In following you I must be willing to serve as you served.
