Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

Jesus instructs the disciples about works of piety. The point of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving is not to be seen and admired by others. These religious practices are a means of emptying oneself and offering praise to God and God alone.

I pray for the grace to do good things not out of guilt or for my own benefit but for my neighbor and you.
