Matthew 20:20-28

A mother will go to great lengths to secure her children’s status. The mother of James and John wants to be sure her sons are rightly placed beside Jesus. She does not understand, nor do the rest of the disciples. The style of leadership to which they are called requires service and involves suffering.

Jesus, I pray to be transparent in my work with and for you. I pray for the humility to be invisible so that you are visible.
