Matthew 25:1-13

The bridesmaids are divided into two groups in Matthew’s Gospel, the foolish and the wise. The foolish bridesmaids are unprepared for the return of the bridegroom. The wise ones have completed their tasks in preparation for his return and stand at the ready. Constant watchfulness is an essential part of discipleship.

It is so easy to get distracted or even cocky and put off to tomorrow what needs to be done today. This is a dangerous pattern, and I pray for your constant guidance.
