Matthew 23:23-26

Jesus is saddened by the behavior of the scribes and Pharisees and warns them of the consequences. The fourth woe in today’s Gospel concerns their neglect of the heart of the law. The fifth woe is criticism of external appearances that in no way reflect the internal reality.

I pray for the grace to understand the truth and the courage to speak it, especially to those I know and love.
