John 10:1-10

John uses the metaphor of the sheep gate for Jesus. When closed it provides safety for the flock by preventing those who intend harm from entering. When opened the sheep move out to the pasture to graze. John is harshly criticizing the Jewish authorities by illustrating that Jesus’ characteristics are those of the loving Father.

I know your voice. I have only to listen and follow. You will that I follow you, but it is my choice. Please give me the grace to choose your way.
